Open Letter to My Twin Daughters
Although you are now mature, grown up, successful women, what I still hold in my heart is your child’s faces wearing joyful smiles. All the sweet memories tie me to you, yet I know, how you missed me as your father. This is what I want to tell you about.
When I was young, I thought life was all about me and I was only seeking after my own success. Then you were born and I found the brightest stars in your sweet little eyes. With your arrival, I lost control over my life and became responsible for you. Your happiness became my objective and I wanted to give you everything you wished for. I realized that a keystone of my life – and society – is fatherhood: something to work for, indeed.
I want you to know, that you (and maybe, all the children in the world) inspired me to create and manage companies. You are the reason for me being where I am now. I know I may have been too strict with you sometimes but believe me, I only wanted to lead you on a safe and true path. Later, I came to understand that you were the architects of your own lives and you would choose what you were passionate about; It’s not for me to tell you.
I want you to take all the fatherly advice I taught you. Use all the experiences we had together to make positive changes in the world. I am proud of both of you and I want you to know, my biggest pride will always be that I can be your father.
